Prints of the critically recognized illustration “Neuroscape” are now available for purchase via ArtPal. This beautiful piece shows in 3D the cell types of the brain, including neurons, pyramidal neurons, astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, microglial cells, and blood vessels. While the neurons transmit signals (represented by glowing spots on the neuron processes) and do most of the things we think of as brain functions, they are supported by an array of other cells. Oligodendrocytes insulate the axons of neurons, astrocytes regulate nutrient flow, and microglial cells mount immune responses to invaders.
Pyramidal neurons and interneurons are shown (blue), as well as oligodendrocytes (pink), an astrocyte (peach), a microglial cell (white), and a capillary with red blood cells.
This piece was exhibited in the 3D Camp Houston “The Third Dimension” Juried Art Show, October 5th, 2013.
Each print is produced by the artist and reviewed for optimal quality, and will fit standard frame sizes. Check out the Falconieri Visuals ArtPal Gallery today.
