Cell Preparation for Fixed Specimen Fluorescent Microscopy

This video shows the effects of a fixative solution and detergent on a fibroblast  in vitro during preparation for fluorescent labeling.  The cell is first “fixed” with paraformaldehyde, and then the membrane is dissolved with detergent, exposing the inner structures to be labeled.

This animation was created in Cinema4D.
